- Yellow Jacket Space Program
The Yellow Jacket Space Program (YJSP) is a student organization at Georgia Tech working hard to develop liquid-propellant rocket systems Our mission is to design, construct, and fly a liquid-fueled rocket to the Karman Line, the official edge of space 100 km above the Earth
- Join Us — Yellow Jacket Space Program
YJSP is a snapshot of the real-world aerospace industry This is where you get to apply all the theory you learn in classes Through hands-on projects and mentorship, we'll help you gain competence and confidence in your technical skills

- TIAT — Yellow Jacket Space Program
"This Is A Test" (TIAT) is the Yellow Jacket Space Program's avionics and controls testbed launch vehicle designed for at least 4 test flights Each flight will verify and validate YJSP's flight avionics software and control system TIAT also allows us to model, test and control aerodynamics of launch environments
- Subscale - Yellow Jacket Space Program
Subscale is YJSP’s proof-of-concept liquid-fueled rocket and serves as the first true test of YJ-1R Our objective is to complete MECO and successfully recover the vehicle A successful launch of Subscale will prove that we have the necessary concepts and structures to build a much larger rocket capable of reaching the Karman line
- Propulsion - Yellow Jacket Space Program
Several different fluid systems are used on YJSP for various purposes such as the vehicle feed system to deliver propellant to our flight engine, the ground support equipment which fills the rocket tanks with propellant, and various test stands we use to characterize our engines and components on the ground prior to launch
- Teams - Yellow Jacket Space Program
Operations manages member onboarding, finances, social media, graphic design, and sponsor outreach From showing off rocketry on Instagram to handling budget spreadsheets, the Ops team makes sure that YJSP gets the attention, membership, and resources necessary for an ambitious space program
- Engine Dev — Yellow Jacket Space Program
YJ-1S is a subscale test article and the first liquid-fueled engine developed by the YJSP team The goal of the project is to develop a small scale, robust, and test-focused engine to enable us to rapidly test and iterate on component design
