the community foundation is one of the oldest and largest philanthropic institutions in the united states. we serve 20 towns within connecticutâs greater new haven and lower naugatuck valley regions. our endowment is valued at nearly $225 million. nearly $13 million dollars in grants was distributed from over 700 funds in 2008.
