A new perspective on the impacts of Spartina alterniflora invasion on Chinese wetlands in the context of climate change: A case study of the Jiuduansha Shoals, Yangtze Estuary
- Impact of Spartina alterniflora Invasion in Coastal Wetlands of China . . .
The objective of this comprehensive review is to address some important aspects linked to the spread of Spartina alterniflora in China’s coastal wetlands Firstly, we summarize the mechanisms behind its spread and its ability to adapt to different
- Impact of Spartina alterniflora Invasion in Coastal Wetlands of China . . .
Invasive plants, like Spartina alterniflora (SA), have a competitive advantage over native flora due to their rapid utilization of vital soil nutrients This results in the depletion of
- Invasion of Spartina alterniflora in the coastal zone of mainland China . . .
Spartina alterniflora (S alterniflora), as an invasive species in China, has posed severe biodiversity challenges, demanding nationwide control and management This study aims to assess the effectiveness of S alterniflora management during China's SDGs implementation from 2015 to 2020
As one of the most important invasive species in Chinese coastal wetlands, Spartina alterniflora has biological characteristics such as strong adaptability, high reproduction rate, rapid growth, and fast spreading compared to native vegetation
- Impact of Spartina alterniflora invasion and aquaculture reclamation on . . .
Coastal wetlands in China have undergone profound transformation by the invasion of Spartina alterniflora and subsequent aquaculture reclamation, but the effects on soil aggregates remain unclear

Biological invasions impact the future well-being of humanity and the planet This virtual collection showcases 15 papers recently published in ESA journals that studied the invasion biology of Spartina alterniflora in Chinese coastal wetlands
- Spartina alterniflora invasion stimulates methane emissions in coastal . . .
Our results showed that S alterniflora invasion increased soil CH 4 emissions by 8 7-fold relative to mangrove soils
- Impact of Spartina alterniflora Invasion in Coastal Wetlands . . .
Invasive plants, like Spartina alterniflora (SA), have a competitive advantage over native flora due to their rapid utilization of vital soil nutrients This results in the depletion of resources for native plant species, significantly impacting ecosystem diversity and stability
