- Whats your favorite machine vice brand : r Machinists - Reddit
Going to go out on a limb here, but I am a huge fan of Orange Vises Our school shop was donated a dual station orange vise and looked at it and they're actually really solid
- experience with Te-Co vises? - Practical Machinist
I have two of the Parlec version and have been happy with them The fit and finish is comparable to the Kurt D675 sitting on the shelf in the shop The vises have a consistent bed height between the two as far as my measuring instruments go
- Machine Vises. . . . Kurt vs TE-CO - The Home Shop Machinist Machinists . . .
In my case I have to remove my vise quite often for other set ups I'm always very careful to make sure the bottom of my vise is clean and free of chips that can fall onto the table unnoticed as I'm setting the vise down
- Im looking for a new vise. Are these any good, or should I . . . - Reddit
We run Teco and Parlec vices, identical down to the exact same model number Problem is there is a 001" height difference between the Teco and Parlec, so need to be sure if using more than once vice, they are the same brand in our shop Or you grind your vices like a proper Machinist
- TE-CO Manufacturing | High Quality Tool | TE-CO Workholding
TE-CO single station vises are a durable and practical solution that hold parts securely during the machining process Vises are available in 4”, 6” and 8” widths and can be mounted quickly and easily to almost any machine table
- Machine Vises. . . . Kurt vs TE-CO - The Home Shop Machinist Machinists . . .
At work, every vise I've ever seen was bent, sloppy, and worthless for holding anything Yes that includes the $500 Wilton vises Why? Because it is Not Possible to get them to hold solidly enough with the swivel bases All of the handles are bent, and the jaws are floppy
- Need opinion on Teco brand mill vise?? - Practical Machinist
In both cases, the vises would only open to about 8 85", which is a stretch at a 9" specification They were willing to ship me a new vise at that time, and committed to some replacement jaws (which I assume would simply have been thinner), but I haven't gotten the jaws yet (weeks later)
- Vise recommendations? Best for the money : r Machinists - Reddit
A Reddit for Machinists of all varieties From Old School conventional guys, to CNC Programmers, to the up and coming next generation
- TE-CO Parlec mill vises? - The Home Shop Machinist Machinists . . .
Having recently used one of the Kurt DX6 "crossover" vises on a friend's mill, I wasn't impressed and neither is he with it Mainly because of the capscrew counterbores in the bed and the hemispherical cutouts in the bedway sides for the glorious clamping bolt cut outs
- Making a decision on a vise. Any input? - Practical Machinist
I use Kurt vise keys that bear on the middle slot of the mill table so no indicating needed when swapping out the vise for the RT or angle fixture (that also is using Kurt vise keys)
