DuckDuckGo does seem to get the majority of it's results from Bing, but they also have their own web crawler that creates some "homemade" results to mix in there sometimes, and they also use hundreds of specialty sources for searches where they might be relevant Bing went down for a few hours a few years back, and DuckDuckGo did not go down
