Does anyone have pictures of the Cat 1693 on the ground? I've been looking for information on this engine for a while now, and from the descriptions and a few youtube videos of trucks with them, I've been wanting to see what one looks like

An old 1693 guy who had worked on many and loved them said: "on the early ones the arrangement nmber was stamped either on a label or directly on to the valve cover" Sure enough we used some paint remover and working carefully the numbers appeared: 2P32338LD0 Note: the '8' may be a '3' and the '0' may be a 'C' As for parts inter-changeability?

yes sir! actually, googling 1693 cat is how i found this forum i could not remember for the life of me what the number of the motor was, i knew it was not a 33 or 3406, and i was randomly putting in digits-- the actual search was 'cat 16' that found y'all so, before even searching your site, i had read one thread and know WAY more than i did!

So my truck through a P1693 code which means P1693 DTC Detected In ECM Or PCM I dont get whats its saying I noticed it was running weird like it accelerate and stop accelerating every once in a while And then tonight I was sitting at a stop like and my RPM's were jumping 1000RPM's and back
