I have 2 Ocellaris clownfish a pair, for 8 months now and I want to add a pair of skunk clownfish will they fight? Or since they are diffrent looking they will get along?

I have a pink skunk clownfish and would like to add a orange with it along with a black ocellaris in a 45 gallon, if i were to do this i would like to know what is the likelyhood theyll try to pair up? I know skunks apparently get really aggressive when paired up which is why im going with an orange instead

The ocellaris and perideraion (pink skunk) are definitely the placid side of the clown fish family tree Obviously percula is included in that group Other members of genus Amphiprion are a bit more aggressive with A bicinctus, A clarkii and A rubrocinctus being more territorial that most I will say though that genus Premnas (the maroon clownfish) are even more aggressive and territorial

Color varieties of the same species can be paired up, as can related species (like ocellaris and percula, or the different skunk clowns) Pairing of clowns is never a sure thing, so you always need to have a "plan B" The stores that house a number of clowns together get away with it for the short term due to crowding the fish

I would avoid mixing percula and ocellaris clownfish I personally had two ocellaris and one jumped the tank I then bought an orange storm and put it in the tank with my remaining mocha storm and they bonded almost immediately
