I've always felt that the visual language of the first Matrix film was working at a whole different level than the sequels - a couple favorites of mine are Neo standing under the rainy overpass, and the shot with the aboriginal man in the lobby when Morpheus takes Neo to see the Oracle I'm not sure what happened after the first movie, since they seem to have retained the same cinematographer

I'm seeing a 35mm screening of The Matrix on Sunday If I remember to, I'll come back to report on what the colour of the pods were Edit: Update - Was fantastic to see Matrix in 35mm It was an original 1999 print so a little aged with some more stark contract but no issues colours wise The pods were pink

The matrix was a phenomenon that was VERY prevalent in the culture for years MANY movies and shows parodied it or took things from it, even films like deuce biggelo, and everybody got the references
