- Black Bear Cub 24-3926: A New Chapter Begins - Gold Country Wildlife Rescue
On December 9, 2024, a critically ill black bear cub—now known as Cub 24-3926—arrived at Gold Country Wildlife Rescue in dire condition At just 20 pounds and nearly hairless, he was suffering from multiple serious health issues, including bacterial and fungal skin infections (yeast and ringworm), and deep ear infections in both ears

THE WILDFIRES THAT DESTROYED habitat across Northern California in 2021, impacted both human and wildlife communities Rescuers brought wildlife that sustained burns and other injuries in the Lava, Antelope, Dixie, and Caldor Fires to our Wildlife Intake Center
