Actually, with discount airlines like Frontier, Allegiant, and Spirit, they do tend too drop prices significantly much closer to the date of the flight but which flight day time and when they do it can be unreliable We have booked the cheapest rates ($50 RT from NJ PA to Orlando) as little as 1-2 weeks out

Allegiant does have sales occasionally but the flights you want may or may not go on sale If you are comfortable with the $149, book it Allegiant has tiered pricing, x number of seats at a certain price, when they are sold the pricing moves up to the next tier (ie: $67 to $79 to $92 to $104 just examples, not actual prices)

I too have been waiting for their release dates because I would like to book through them for our trip in September I was not successful with getting an answer when I called them, so I "liked" them on Facebook so that I could check it often, they released a status that they appreciate the excitement, but they probably will not release the dates until April sometime

For others considering Allegiant don't forget to compare how driving to from the airport to catch Allegiant is different than driving to from your home airport For us, the Rockford airport is a little further, but free parking and less crowds is worth it compared to driving to Ohare or Midway
